Monday Nights are Underrated: A Party at Thrive

Nice to have a cool corporate gig on a Monday night.  Thrive is a trendy yet tasty downtown restaurant featuring fresh hipster food, and even sushi.  They don't normally have bands there.  We brought our usual setup, which slightly overwhelmed the establishment.  Spencer was with me on the load-in, and he helped carry some light gear down the street and up the steps.  After that, I took him over to the Georgia Pacific building.  Parking was just down the street in a paid lot.  Stashing all of the cases was an ordeal, since we all had parked in designated lots already and couldn't move our cars after that.  After setting up and checking the sound, we enjoyed a deluxe complimentary meal with some eye-catching sushi rolls.  Thrive really took care of us and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We had a great response to our 2 sets.  Good variety of classic rock, which is what they wanted.  It's always interesting to note how there is little response in the early part of the night.  Then, as we're wrapping it up, people want us to play another hour.  It was late enough by the time we rolled out for the night.
