A Stable Quintet in Trinity: Sweetwater Junction Performs at Adaumont Farm

What a neat venue.  The setting for the performance space was a remodeled barn, converted into a country-chic performance space.  Adaumont Farm is owned by Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie.  Check it out here.  We got an early start after the night before at Capitol City Club.  It still wasn't early enough, as inclement weather brought heavy rains just as we were settling into the notion of sound checking and rehearsing the dances.  The rains brought the wedding attendees into the venue for plan b, entailing an indoor or nearby ceremony.  We had other reasons to be slightly delayed.  Wish I had copped pics of the underside of the stage.  We were all blown away by the appearance of the stage being held up with 2x4's, without any sort of fixation.  Only after several peerings did we observe the corner wheels, covered by skirting.  Still, it was a big wobbly stage and we did our best to forget about the odd support system underneath.

Had a rockin' green room with Direct TV and even a snack tray.  Not sure if it was really for us, but nobody else ever claimed it.  The bridal party was sipping on champagne and asked me to open a bottle.  None of us wanted that.  I get a headache just thinking about it.

There was a righteous NASCAR museum showcase with some slick racin' cars, located just off of the main room.  Something you don't see every day at a wedding.

We ate dinner in one of the stalls.  Very clean.  Great buffet with different themes, including a fresh cut corn sundae in a martini glass.  It was fun food with something for everybody.

I might have gone overboard on the re-processing of these above 2 photos.  Google does some weird artifact embellishment after I upload.  They were rather dark before I enhanced the levels.  Oh well.

Good performance from everybody.  Dan was a bit quiet on the dances, but it was addressed.  He and Brian played the pre-ceremony cocktail hour - you read it correctly.  They were out there on the patio for a good hour at least.  We borrowed their last tune of Take 5 for the entrance music.

Brian recorded the performance on his camera.  Because of the accent lighting and perhaps my height, I appeared to be front center, commanding the attention.  Ugh.  The sound quality was really good with a decent mix,  The crowd obviously had a great time and danced all night long.  We had fun as well.  Drove back a stretch before stopping for the night.  We had another job the following night (Sunday).
