Rockin' at River Green in Canton

It was a nice warm (but too hot) evening in Canton that MartaY & The PartaY took to the stage by the tennis courts in the River Green subdivision.  This was an interesting show that flipped it around by having our drummer Brent be the front man singing lead vocals.  Just about the only other drummer to fill in his shoes would be Sam Owens, who I found out went to the same school that Brent attended in middle Georgia.  We had a decent place to set up, near the bathrooms but at least on concrete.  The folks came just as we got going in earnest.  Lots of families and not a lot of crazy behavior.  The sets were thoughtfully chosen by Brent, who stuck in a few unusual ones for us.  We did "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley & Bowie's "Rebel Rebel", among other choice cuts.  It was such a laid back job, but to Brent's credit, we were the most punctual we've ever been.  A great group bestowed us with some cold beers, and a cooler full of waters was brought to the stage as well.  Great people.

Sam!

My unpredictable camerafone (or was it me - could it be?)

MartaY was on fire!

We played a good mix for the family folk.

I was trying to get Brent and/or MartaY in the shot behind me.  Funny nonetheless.

Brent did a great job fronting the band!

MartaY and the man who slipped us the cheque - and the waters!

2 drummers on 1 gig - don't see that too often!
